If you think Gallery Mode is only a showcase feature for your TV, then you’re wrong. Gallery Mode is a TV-friendly feature that you can use to make the boring black screen with aesthetic images. By enabling LG Gallery Mode, you can prevent your TV display from Image retention and burn-in issues.

How to Enable Gallery Mode on LG TV
The Gallery Mode or Art mode on LG TV is available on every webOS model (except NetCast). With this mode enabled, you can choose any random pictures and paintings from the list and slideshow them on your LG TV when it is idle. To turn on gallery mode on LG Smart TV, follow the headings.
LG webOS 4.5 or Later
- Once turning on your LG TV, you should go to the home screen and choose the Art Gallery app.
- When you enter the themes section, choose one or more themes that you find good.
- After choosing the themes, move your Magic Remotes pointer to Speed and Theme Sound options to configure the theme on TV.
- You can see the selected theme on the idle screen of your LG TV.
If you would like to keep the downloaded gallery mode themes on your LG TV, here is how you can do it.
- Open LG TV Art Gallery and select the My Themes option on the top right.
- Here, you will find your downloaded theme. Pick a themed outlet and click on Selective Play Mode. Now, you can select any art you want and keep it as your idle LG TV screensaver/background.
LG webOS 3.5 & 4.0
- Using your remote control, press the Home button and choose the LG TV Art Gallery app on the home screen.
- Scroll through the themes available in the section and choose one that picked your eye.
- Now, the selected gallery theme will be set to your LG Smart TV.
Like webOS 6.0 models, you can download specific theme sets from the Galery mode settings of your LG TV easily. To do that,
- After selecting one or multiple themes, go to the My Photos section to see the downloaded themes.
- Under the My Photos section, select the themes again to set it as a screensaver on your LG TV.
Once you turn on Gallery Mode on your TV, you can protect it and make your TV screen look more beautiful than before. However, the only thing we find to be a fault with Gallery Mode is that it doesn’t support custom images for slideshows. Besides that, Gallery Mode is one of the best things you can do to enhance and protect your TV display.

If you’re an LG NetCast user, you won’t find the Gallery mode feature. It is designed only to serve webOS TV models, so you won’t find it on your old LG TV models.

Just bought a 2024 lg OLED 55inch smart Tv – no sign of the art gallery app. Searching doesn’t find it either. I an in the UK

The Art Gallery app should be pre-installed on your LG OLED TV. Here are some steps you can try to locate and install it:
1. Navigate to the LG TV Home screen and look through all the pre-installed apps. Sometimes, the Art Gallery app might not be immediately visible.
2. Ensure your TV’s software is up to date. Go to Settings > All Settings > Support > Software Update and check for updates.
3. Open the LG Content Store from the Home screen and use the search function to look for the Art Gallery app.
4. Verify that your TV’s region settings are correctly set to the UK. Go to Settings > All Settings > General > Location and ensure the region is set to the UK.
5. If you still can’t find the app, contact LG customer support. There may be region-specific availability issues or other factors preventing the app from appearing.
